City of Jyväskylä grants internationalization stipends for 3 companies
City of Jyväskylä has decided to reward 3 local companies with Internationalisation stipends. The rewarded companies who are seeking fast international growth are Naturvention Oy, Ficonic Solutions Oy and Music.Info Finland Oy.
With this honorary award, the trade department of City of Jyväskylä wants to strongly support new international success stories that are leaping from Jyväskylä to the world.
”These three companies are just a small part of an amazing group of local SMEs who have become international success stories. In the recent years, increasing amount of SMEs from Jyväskylä have wanted to expand their markets beyond Finnish borders. The owners of local companies have clearly encouraged one another to seek business and partnerships from abroad and we also as a city want to help these entrepreneurs forward to the international markets.” says the director of the trade department of City of Jyväskylä, Anne Sandelin.
The internationalization stipends of 2017 lead to China
Founding partner of Kasvu Open, Kasvun Roihu Oy has built in the recent years a unique Growth to Market -concept to support the internationalization process of companies. Their Growth to Shanghai sparring program will take 11 most interesting Finnish start-ups at the moment to Shanghai in August 2017. In Shanghai, the companies will receive sparring from wide and competent team of Chinese and Finnish growth partners.
”Possibly even first time in Finland, we have got a partner team which has this vast business know-how and includes the most important actors in the Shanghai business network as sponsors and content producers for the companies’ Go-to-China sparring program. Finnish growth companies truly interest in China and people are even willing to pay to meet them.” says Kasvun Roihu Oy CEO Matti Härkönen and continues ”As a person from Jyväskylä, I can proudly state that when we started to search for the most interesting Finnish growth companies to join, like an accident three of the 11 companies come from Jyväskylä. There are really happening good things in the entrepreneurial field!”
Music.Info Finland Oy CEO Kari Halttunen sees the possibilities connecting to Chinese markets clearly:
”Last year in China, there was over 20% increase in the digital music consumption and sales. It is one of the strongest growing music markets in the world. Same time piracy and illegal listening of music has decreased drastically. Additionally, in China people want to listen to international music even more. Music.Info will be satisfying this need.
Over 500 artists from 15 countries have been going through Music.Info’s digital distribution service and they have been listened millions of times in China during this year. They will get compensated based on the listening times, so they have also earned thousands of euros of listening compensations. And what is best, our growth has been over 50% during the last month.
Through Music.Info, indie artists and record labels get their music distributed in China, can share videos and get gigs. Next, we will offer targeted sales promotion services to wanted target groups through social services like Weibo and Wechat, which equals to our Twitter and Facebook. From Shanghai, we will meet new local distributor partners and investors. We are excitedly waiting for August.”
Experiences from China are shared
Käy –project’s project manager Maria Hyppönen from the City of Jyväskylä now challenges the companies who received the internationalisation stipends to share their experiences also to other companies who are interested of Chinese markets.
”We want to challenge companies to form different kinds of themed networks at different business opportunities. For example, we are gathering a network of companies to be ready for soon to be open competitive tendering of acquisition of defence equipment. Now we want to challenge companies who are interested of internationalisation to meet and share their practical business experiences, for example about Chinese market. I hope that now participating companies will act as brave knowledge sharers to their region’s colleague entrepreneurs!” #kasvunmaakunta #tekosysteemi
Ficonic Solutions Oy CEO Timo Salminen sees the meaning of sharing knowledge as an essential part of the area’s company culture.
”Our service Carrio is currently been published in several European markets, so it is an exciting opportunity to get familiar with our possibilities also in the Chinese market. This kind of projects where Finnish growth companies challenge each other and help one another to solve growth challenges, are opportunities that you should grasp! says Ficonic Solutions Oy CEO Timo Salminen and continues We want to inspect possibilities for our growth in China as soon as possible and this project offers a great change to do so. In the series of good international news, for example last week’s publication of our partner in France supports our international growth path.”
