I graduated from Tiimiakatemia in Christmas 2013. I traveled around the world and returned to Finland in the beginning of April. I was enthusiastic to find new challenges and a job in the Jyväskylä region. At first it seemed futile and no suitable jobs seemed to be available. I was getting frustrated. Then I remembered I had met Matti Härkönen last winter in the final celebration of the Kasvu Open project.
In that winter 2013 I was involved in the Jyväskylä Entrepreneurship Society as the treasurer. We were asked to help with organizing the Kasvu Open final celebration. This was a Christmas party for the Kasvu Open network and helping hands were needed.
The project was a success, so Matti suggested me to contact him if I needed a job after my trip around the world.
So that’s what I did. I emailed Matti and introduced myself. Unfortunately Kasvun Roihu had just recruited their first employee. But Matti recommended me and I got a job at the Central Finland Chamber of Commerce, in the Kasvu Open team. My job included mostly selling the Kasvu Open Carnival tickets, but I also participated in organizing local Growth Tracks. During my time there I learned a lot about the Kasvu Open concept, Finnish SMEs, event production and business development.
In the end of October 2014 Matti asked me to join the Kasvun Roihu team. I was really excited to continue the inspiring work with Kasvu Open. I also accepted new challenges in other trades of Kasvun Roihu. I was the second person recruited. I was responsible for the production of Kasvu Open and Broker event days. I was also responsible for recruiting the growth experts in Kasvu Open 2015. In March 2015, I was promoted to the position of service manager and started managing our productions team.
The latest change in my career has been the role of a coach. I am still responsible for the service manager’s position, but now I am also responsible for selling and facilitating the local Kasvu Open Growth Tracks. I have been challenging myself here in Kasvun Roihu. I have the best teachers in business development, event production and coaching. I am eager to see how I can challenge and fulfill myself in this team!
